Yup that's me
...was raised and currently resides in Colonie, NY. He has enjoyed photography as a hobby since his he received a Kodak disc camera in the early 80’s as a First Communion gift from his parents. Ben went to Colonie Central High School and upon graduation in 1994 received an Olympus camera as a gift from his Aunt Sue. Ben was known to bring that camera everywhere and to this day has photo albums crammed full of photographs of his friends, band mates, pets, flowers, and landscapes. Despite his interest, photography was to remain a hobby for the time being, because in 1998 Ben was awarded a Bachelor’s degree from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. Out of college he was the manager at a local computer shop and in the year 2000 was awarded the Branch Manager of the Year award for outstanding customer service. During this time he had to travel regularly for business and always came home with more photos of architecture and landscapes. Ben continued his career in customer service at a bathroom remodeling company and even spent 2 years in the state of Florida as an office manager. While living in Florida Ben acquired a Canon PowerShot SD630, his first digital camera. With this camera he enjoyed capturing his African cichlid fish in their aquarium, as well as beaches and other landscapes. He returned to Colonie to join the family business as a farm store operator and professional greenhouse grower. Ben’s interest in photography became more serious when he acquired his first Android smartphone and he found himself photographing the flowers in his greenhouses obsessively. He decided to post some of his photos on the social media site Instagram and slowly but surely built up a loyal following. This encouraged Ben to finally bite the bullet and invest in a Nikon D3200 camera. He now has complete control over his photography work and has become more enthusiastic about it than ever.
